| Martin: Saving The Dome! |

As the local council top brass continues its spree of budget cuts throughout Morecambe and Lancaster the popular entertainment venue 'The Dome' on Morecambe's promenade finds its self in the crosshairs. Martin Shenton, owner of Regent Park Studios as well as a number of other local figure heads such as MP Geraldine Smith, Jim Catterall (head of Morecambe's Hotel and Tourism Association) have spoken out in strong opposition about the plans. Martin is calling for a public inquiry into the matter. The Dome is one of very few entertainment venues in Morecambe and is used for a wide range of events. At a time when Morecambe is making a strong case as a destination for breaks and holidays in Britain, while at the same time still recovering from years of neglect, these plans undermine the efforts of many people, groups, organisations and local businesses. If you would like to get involved with the effort to keep The Dome open, please get in touch with us here at Regent Park Studios, using the Enquiry button at the top of the page or email us at: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it Martin would very much like to hear from you.
